How to Remove Email Account

To remove an email account, perform the steps as discussed below:

  1. Click Start, and then select Settings > Accounts > Email & Accounts.
  2. Under Accounts used by email, calendar, and contacts, select the account you want to remove, and then click Manage.
  3. Click Delete account from this device.
  4. Click Delete to confirm.

Removing an Account used by Apps

To remove an account used by apps, perform the steps as discussed below:

  1. Click Start, and then select Settings > Accounts > Email & Accounts.
  2. Under Accounts used by other apps, select the account you want to remove, and then click Remove.
  3. Click Yes to confirm.

Remove or Delete Email Account from MS Outlook

  • Launch MS Outlook, click File > select Account Settings > Account Settings. 1
  • Select the account you want to delete, then click Remove. 2
  • A warning message appears stating all offline cached content for this account will be deleted. This only affects content downloaded and stored on your computer.
  • Click Yes to confirm. 3

Delete Email Accounts in Windows Mail App

  1. Click Settings (the gear icon) at the bottom of the left pane of the program (or More at the bottom, on a tablet or phone).
  2. In the Settings pane, click Manage accounts.
  3. Select the account you want to remove from Mail.
  4. In the Account settings screen, click Delete account.
  5. Click Delete to confirm.

Delete a Default Account in Windows Mail

To disable the account in Windows Mail, perform the steps as discussed below:

  1. Click Settings (the gear icon) at the bottom of the left pane (or More at the bottom, on a tablet or phone).
  2. Click Manage accounts from the right menu pane.
  3. Select the account that you want to stop using.
  4. Click Change mailbox sync settings.
  5. Under Sync options, turn off the Email toggle switch.
  6. Click Done > click Save.

Steps to Delete Microsoft Account

  1. Visit account.microsoft.com
  2. Enter your login credentials.
  3. Click Your Info tab at the top of the page.
  4. Scroll down to Help with Microsoft account
  5. Click How to close your account.
  6. Choose whether you want Microsoft to retain your data for 30 days or 60 days.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Work through the various security confirmations.

Permanently Delete all Microsoft Account

  1. Login to Microsoft account https://account.microsoft.com/ to manage your account settings.
  2. From the Microsoft Account page, click Security.

At the bottom of the new page, click more security options.

Scroll down to the bottom of the account details page > click Close my account link.

  1. Microsoft will inform you about all the things you must do before closing your account.
  2. If the above steps didn’t work for you, use the super-hidden deletion link: Click here to go directly to the account closure confirmation page.

Microsoft will ask to verify your identity and notify you of what we already know; it will take 60 days to close the account permanently.
