Turn ON 2-Step Verification

To turn ON 2-Step Verification in your Google account, perform the steps as discussed below:

1. Click (Google Apps icon).
2. Click on Account.
3. Click on Security tab. Under Signing in to Google option, click on 2-Step Verification feature (if not turned ON already, it will appear as Off).
4. For 2-Step Verification step, click GET STARTED.
5. To proceed, enter the Gmail account password. Click Next.
6. Google will display the list of devices wherein you are signed in with your Gmail ID. Click CONTINUE.
7. Google will ask for how you want to receive the code – via Text message or Phone call on the registered contact number.
8. Select Text message option (by-default text message option is selected).
9. Click SEND.
10. Enter the verification code received on your registered contact number.
11. Click NEXT.
12. In the screen that appears, click TURN ON.
13. 2-Step Verification will appear with status as ON with date.
