Sign in using AWS Login Credentials and then click Sign In.
Search for IAM or navigate to Security, Identity & Compliance → IAM:
Under Security Status, select Activate MFA on your root account → click Manage MFA.
A pop-up message screen Manage MFA device appears. For the two options to select the type of MFA device to activate MFA in AWS account, select A virtual MFA device option → click Next Step.
Download Google Authenticator for Android Devices app from Google Play Store → tap OPEN to launch the application.
Tap BEGIN to proceed with the Authentication process.
On Add an account screen, tap Scan a barcode and scan the barcode displayed on the manage MFA device screens.
he moment you scan the barcode, the Google Authenticator will display the 2-Authentication code one after the other.
Enter the Authentication code 1 and Authentication code 2 → click Activate virtual MFA to enable MFA in AWS account
After the Authentication Code is successful, the success pop-up message appears as “The MFA device was successfully associated with your account”. This shows that Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) in Amazon AWS account is successful.
When you login to the console next time, an Authentication Page is displayed: Amazon Web Services Sign In With Authentication Device. Enter the Authentication Code to successfully login to the AWS account.
